Teachers Can Start Using Technology - 833 Words

1- Active: Teachers can start using technology not only to deliver a lesson but also let students to engage with the technological tools. For instance, using smart-board is becoming more popular day by day, and teachers are using it in their teaching activities. However, just showing videos on smart-boards to students relevant to the context that they are learning will not enhance students’ engagement and learning. Thus, teachers can allow students to deliberately engage with technological devices. For example, while teaching numbers, instead of just showing the numbers and the objects, and asking them to calculate, teachers can give them opportunities to draw numbers with their hands on smart-board. In this case, as they will be engaging with the technological device, their attention will be higher, and they will learn easier. On the other hand, some of teachers may not be eager to give chance to students for using technological tools actively because they believe that it is wasting time. However, although discovering the tool by students takes some time at the beginning, it will help both teachers and students to save time during further activities. For instance, some students may not familiar with computer because of different reasons. Thus, the teacher may not allow students using computer to prevent chaos during showing the context of an activity. However, in this case, each time, s/he will need to spend much more time to show each student the context. Operation Management Procedure of Production

Question: Describe about the Operation Management for Procedure of Production. Answer: Introduction Operation management is an area of management that is concerned with designing as well as controlling the procedure of production. It is mainly concerned with planning as well as managing the contexts of production and manufacturing of services. There are two big terms that helps to describe operation management. The first term is supply chain management that helps to understand the international trend in order to meet the demand of the customers that is often decisive. On the other hand, the second term is logistics that helps to deal with careful use of resources (Silva Vieira, Beal and Stewart 2014). The report provides a brief introduction about Brisbane Outdoor Power Centre that function from three retail sites across the Queensland city of Brisbane. The three retail sites are almost identical to each other however; they offer diverse mixes of commodities that are designed to meet local demand. The owner of Brisbane Outdoor, Donald Saxon opened its first outlet in the year 1985 in Mt Gravatt. With the continuing concern, he purchased the Strathpine centre (Niknam, Golestaneh and Malekpour 2012). Current purchasing and inventory management processes GreenPlus Pty Ltd was incorporated by Belinda Green, who worked with the company for more than 10 years for the sole objective to purchase the business from the Saxon. According to Belinda, the product of the company are purchased by the customers at a larger quantity as the customers considers the product to be authentic as well as satisfactory. As a result, all the three branches of Brisbane Outdoor Power Centre are operating successfully. This had helped to build the reputation of the company, as the customers are very satisfied with the products. The retail customers are fascinated to Brisbane Outdoor as the firm has a strong status for well-informed staff as well as high quality products. The customers have the option with the help of which they can purchase reasonable products however; they consider Brisbane Outdoor, as a reputed company as far as quality is concerned. As a result, the current purchasing process of the company is excellent. Belinda is presently operating the co mpany after the retirement of Donald and Louise. She in turn upholds the commodity demand and needs of the customers properly (Krajewski, Ritzman and Malhotra 2013). An effective inventory management process is key to making sure that the business profitable. An inventory management can be designed by determining the requirements of the customers. The laissez-faire approach to trade by Saxon resulted in some odd purchasing and inventory management practices. Each store of Brisbane Outdoor operated separately and the various stock items were transported between stores when scarcity took place (Coyle et al. 2016). The Outdoor Power Centre produces several commodities for the customers in larger quantity and as a result, it is considered as one of the best manufacturing company in Brisbane. The products that are produced by the company include blowers, trimmers, bikes, edger, chippers, generators, brush cutters as well as mowers. In order to produce these products, the company upholds a good operational management. Each of the three inventory managers does their own sourcing as well as acquiring. The inventory management process of the company uphol ds the exact amount at a competitive price in the market. The business in Brisbane fulfils the requirements of the customers with the process of operational management (Christopher 2016). Figure: Inventory Management (Source: Created by Author) The inventory procedure is mainly considered as monetary process of the company that benefits the outline of material in the company. The categorizing of the inventory management helps to operate the warehouse more smoothly. The inventory management should be organized in such a way that the products of the company experience the largest sell-through (Morton, Cambiaghi and Radcliffe 2015). Comparative advantages and disadvantages The comparative advantages of the inventory management process of the Outdoor Power Centre in Brisbane are as follows: A good inventory management strategy improves the accurateness of inventory orders. It helps to figure out how much inventory one requires to have on hand (Ali et al. 2013). It also helps to determine the level of finest inventory that indicates that the wastage of operational capital is reduced in the company. A good inventory management also leads to a more organized warehouse. In other words, if the warehouse of the company is not organized it will become difficult for them to manage the inventory. A good inventory management strategy also helps to save time and money by keeping track of the products that the customers have onhand. It helps to save the money that would otherwise be wasted on sluggish commodities (Elsayed 2015). It also helps to increase efficiency as well as productivity. Similarly, several comparative disadvantages of the inventory management process of the Outdoor Power Centre in Brisbane are as follows: Most of the inventory management software is costly and the price acts as an issue for small and medium sized business (de Waal and Kourtit 2013) The company traditionally suffers from losses as inventory management upholds the overall three branches of the company in Brisbane. To operate all the branches of the company, inventory management involves more time in the production process. As a result, the customers are not able to get the commodity at the specified time as per their requirements. Green was also not convinced with the present approach and he considered it as effective or sustainable (Schnsleben 2016). Supply-chain and inventory management The efficiency of the company is mainly increased with the help of the supply chain process as it plays an important role in the company to generate goods as per the requirements of the company. The supply chain management involves the implementation of cross-functional processes within the company as well as integrating them with main members of the supply chain. The individuals who are dependent on the tools for a living found that dependability, performance and readily obtainable supplies and spare parts were essential elements of their supply chain. With the help of the supply chain management, the company had found it easier to seek optimization (Stadtler 2015). The overall monetary position of the company is reflected with the help of the supply chain. The company requires making some accomplishment as well as protection for the logistics phase that will help to increase the competence of the company. In order to increase the competence of the company, the concept of supply cha in and inventory management is very much required. This will help the company to build a better relationship management with the customers. As a result, Brisbane Outdoor will be able to generate more goods as per the demand of the customers. With the purchase of the products, the supply chain will be able o augment the competence of the company (Monczka et al. 2015). The investment of the company is likely to reduce as the company is operating in three branches in Brisbane. As a result, inventory management is required to diminish the cost of investment in the company. A good inventory management practice will help the company to add value in terms of having control over and sustaining lean inventory. However, the company should keep in mind that inventory should not be too much or too less. A good inventory system will also help a company will help the company to earn profit. The cost of investment will be reduced with the help of a good inventory management. The products that are produced by Brisbane Outdoor are diverse as the company manufactures the commodities that are mostly demanded by the customers. The low investment in the company is mainly due to the fact that the company produces different products in different branches. As a result, inventory management is mostly referred to as the decision-making tool that helps to reduce the rate o f investment. This in turn helps to manage the overall strategic system properly as well as to put into practice the practical incorporation in the company (Rushton, Croucher and Baker 2014). Maintain Level of Adequate Stock Inventory management preserves most of the departmental tools that are primarily related to the production of commodities in diverse branches of Brisbane Outdoor. The sufficient stock level in the company in order to improve the performance of the company is maintained by Brisbane Outdoor. This is mainly because if the stock is not maintained, it will restrict the growth of the company. The company is examined to have the best supply chain as well as inventory management that in turn helps to maintain the stock of the company (Tirinato et al. 2014). Recommendation It is recommended that the company should relate their nature of their business as they have different branches across the country. The company desires to expand their amount of product, as their key motive is to make the customers happy. The performances of the company in all the three branches are mainly improved by Green to satisfy the demand of the customers. Conclusion It can be concluded that the individuals who are dependent on the tools for a living found that dependability, performance and readily obtainable supplies and spare parts were essential elements of their supply chain. It can also be concluded that a good inventory management also leads to a more organized warehouse. In other words, if the warehouse of the company is not organized it will become difficult for them to manage the inventory. The inventory management process of the company upholds the exact amount at a competitive price in the market. References Ali, S.S., Madaan, J., Chan, F.T. and Kannan, S., 2013. White Demons Essays - , Term Papers, Research Papers

White Demons My Mom was herded onto a boat. My dad was herded too. My sister and I could only sit back and watch, Until we were herded too. Sitting in that stinky boat Chained to the wall Only made us remember That hellish night before. My mother sold My dad moving on I stepped to the board And I was also sold The master's whip stung my back. The master's wife's words stung my heart. All I could think about was putting up a fight. But I knew better, my life depended On my decision to stay calm Standing at a counter, washing dishes and cooking food I remembered the time long ago And the ship I was forced to know Time had made my life hell Eternity was how it felt Finally I found hope, In the one I loved The one I adored. He was my hope my shinning joy! Our children soon came. Beautiful each one. My life no longer hell I could go on But then that awful day arrived And they all stood on the block All four of my children Sold like life stock My husband has been beat He is bleeding in my arms Will he die? The answer only tomorrow will bring Why had these white demons come? Taken all I knew And sent it in a whirl All my love lost What will tomorrow bring?

The Crucible by Arthur Miller Coursework Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words

The Crucible by Arthur Miller - Coursework Example The Crucible is known as a parable, this mean there can be a direct link made between the events of the 17th Century witch trials, to the Communist ‘with hunts’ in the United States that occurred at the time Miller wrote the play. The first US production of The Crucible occurred in January 1953, this was a time of the Red Scare where Senator John McCarthy made false allegations of Communism against various people, this particularly affected people in the Arts and film industry who were know to hold more Leftist views. Miller comments that the propaganda of McCarthyism, the Red Scare and Communism â€Å"from the far Right was capable of creating not only a terror, but a new subjective reality† (39). Miller speaks of himself being astounded within the McCarthy era by how fear, an â€Å"interior and subjective an emotion could have been so manifestly created from without† (40). Miller describes John Proctor as intelligent, physically strong, rationale and stab le. With particular reference to his state of mind he’s described as â€Å"even tempered† with a â€Å"steady manner† (239). Yet, despite this outward appearance there is a sense of him feeling hypocritical from having sinned, and it is said that he â€Å"has come to regard himself as a kind of fraud.† (239). He is shown as determined to put an end to any previous relationships with Abigail in a polite but determined manner, this is indicated by the stage directions, â€Å"PROCTOR, gently pressing her from him, with great sympathy but firmly† (241). Proctor’s guilt for being disloyal to Elizabeth is show by anger when Abigail mentions her. Proctor is shown to be a rationale man who doesn’t believe in all the nonsense about devils and he’s a person who speaks his mind: â€Å"I may speak my heart, I think† (246). Proctor’s relationship with Elizabeth is awkward, they initially make formal small-talk about food and w ork, but there is evident strain in their relationship, evident when he says to her â€Å"I mean to please you† and she finds it difficult to acknowledge â€Å"I know it John† (262). When he kisses her she is disappointed. There is a sense of duty perceived from Elizabeth as she performs her housewife role, and an expectation from Proctor. As their conversation turns more argumentative, Proctor is described as â€Å"Angry and Stubborn† whilst Elizabeth is â€Å"quiet†¦cold†¦and lost all faith† (264). Elizabeth is still suspicious of Proctor, whilst he is fed up feeling guilty and judged by her. Proctor learns that the total accused women has increased form 14 – 39 and that one of the ladies has been sentenced to hang. It is indicated that Elizabeth’s name was mentioned too. He finds the whole accusations ridiculous when good honest religious women are accused, and elderly women too. As the scene progresses and he is tested on the c ommandments – he begins to take the threat more seriously. When Proctor is talking to Hale about the girls’ lies he says: â€Å"There are them that will swear to anything before they’ll hang† (275). He thinks if Hale does not believe him, that others in court may not too. When Cheever arrives with a warrant for Elizabeth and mentions the poppet, Mary is summoned. Proctor’

Customer contact Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words

Customer contact - Essay Example Since customer contact employees are the front-liners in every business experience, they should have the qualities which can help ensure the retention of old customers and attraction of new ones. According to DMG Consultancy LLC, customer contact agents should â€Å"demonstrate service excellence; apply in-depth product, procedure and system knowledge to produce optimal outcomes and process outstanding oral, written and interpersonal skills†. In order to give excellent service, an employee must know the basics of his task such as job descriptions, extent and limitations of his jurisdiction and other important matters. â€Å"The contact center is a critical area where the customer’s experience and attitude towards the company are developed† (Prunty & Pritchard). Therefore, one should be trained for him to be able to properly and efficiently perform his duties for a highly satisfactory service. It is not enough that an employee knows the primary information about co mpany and his responsibilities but one should also study the customers because â€Å"a problem is created when contact centers take action without really understanding their customers† (Prunty, et.al.). In addition, applying in-depth product, procedure and system knowledge cannot simply be done by informing an employee about them. He should be trained to perform such duties so that he will not waste his time experimenting on what must be done and perhaps during the process, jeopardize the business. The customer contact employee has the power to make a business a failure or success (DMG Consultancy, Prunty, et.al.) depending on one’s training or the lack of it. Genetically Modified plants have changed how food is grown, although they have become very controversial. The purposes of Genetically Modified plants are to decrease time to maturity, increase resistance to disease, increase in nutrition, and reduce the use of herbicides. Genetically Modified plants can be very beneficial in many aspects not only to the United States but also to many underdeveloped countries such as Africa. The Encyclopaedia Britannica defines Genetically Modified Organisms as: â€Å"An organism whose genome has been engineered in the laboratory in order to favor the expression of desired physiological traits or the production of desired biological products† (Diaz and Fridovich-Keil). Genetically Modified plants are created by altering the DNA of the plant. The alteration, which is known as genetic modification, causes the DNA to be genetically different than how it would be naturally. Genetic modification makes it possible to transfer genes from a non-related species of plants. Genetic modifications are performed on many organisms such as: animals, plants and bacteria. Some products produced by genetic modification include feeds, medicines, vaccines, foods and fibers. Feed and products grown for food, are the most well known and most controversial genetically modified products. In the United States, genetically modified foods were approved for human consumption in 1995. â€Å"By the end of 2010, genetically modified crops covered more than 9.8 million square kilometers of land in 29 countries worldwide- one-tenth of the world’s farmland.† (Diaz and Fridovich-Keil). According to EB â€Å"60% of all processed foods consumed in the United States contained at least some genetically modified ingredients† (Diaz and Fridov... ...e U.S., according to recent analysis from the U.S. Department of Agriculture† (â€Å"Food†). Since the majority of the population does not benefit from genetically modified organisms they tend to want to reject them. Consumers do not want to pay higher prices for the food they consume, but without increasing the yield per acre, farmers cannot recoup the higher costs of machinery, fuel, fertilizers, and seed used to produce the food. There are many positive attributes to genetically modified plants, farming is less harsh on the environment, it can help feel the ever growing population of the world on less farmland, and produce more nutritious food. With the acceptance of this technology many problems facing underdeveloped nations could be solved. With more education everyone can benefit from genetically modified organisms and more research would be possible.

Nearly 20 years ago, Raymond received severe head trauma from a car accident which left IM in a coma for nearly a month. Eventually, Raymond recovered but he had difficulty, especially with his memory. Harriet becomes Raymond primary caregiver. Harrier's health began to decline over the years eventually suffering a stroke and a broken hip requiring her placement in skilled nursing home. The family found themselves trying to determine what arrangements their mother had made for her care as well as Raymond. They found that she neglected to address any of their affairs; no powers of attorney, no living wills, no wills and very small nest egg. It was to long after Harriet placement in the home that Raymond is placed the dementia ward of the same facility as Harriet. Because of the lack of planning Raymond son had to be declared is father's legal guardian by the Courts. Although the nursing home claimed the fourth floor was a dementia unit, it was little more than a limited access skilled nursing unit. Patients were permitted to wander the ward with little or no supervision. The family was not happy about the situation but with limited financial resources there was no choice. On February 28th, 2011, Raymond was wandering the halls of the unit, one can only surmise what occurred next. According to a subsequent state investigation, the wing was left unsupervised. An amputee patient fell out of his wheelchair. A life member of the volunteer fire department Raymond heard the wonder alarm sounding and intuitively he attempted open the large nutritional door to the patient's room. The patient was lying on the floor directly behind the door. The door would not open, so Raymond continued to push on the doors trying to be of assistance. Eventually, the staff heard the alarm and responded to find Raymond in the hall and the patient on the floor with head trauma. After the incident, the family received a call from the nursing home stating that Raymond need to go to the hospital p sychiatric unit. The family was not alarmed as this had happened a few times before. The home failed to elaborate. The morning news told the story of an incident of a dementia patient assaulting another. The following evening the news was of a dementia patient being charged with aggravated assault with the District Attorney office considering homicide charges. The family had to obtain a criminal attorney for Raymond, who had already been declared legal incompetent by the courts. It seems the nursing home had not mentioned that to the charging officer or the District Attorney's office. They also had to obtain a civil attorney because the victim's family had indicated they were going to sue all the parties involved. Raymond could be of little help in his defense and became confused easily reverting to his earliest memories. Investigations were being conducted into the events that led to this tragedy. The district attorney's office hired a forensic psychiatrist to determine if Raymond wa s competent and the state department of public welfare was conducting its own investigation. Meanwhile, being unified too hospital psychiatric unit Raymond health declined quickly. He refused to feed himself and became frustrated if others offer to feed himself; a natural progression of dementia. Because of Raymond overall health a feeding tube was rejected by the family. On the evening of April 30, 2011, Raymond died alone in the same hospital as his victim had two months earlier. The following day the district attorney's office stated that Raymond would not have been charged with any criminal charges. Six weeks later the nursing home suffered one of the largest fine in the history of the State as well as being placed on a provisional license.
